Venturing through the realms where facts intertwine with experiences, I invite you to explore my dreams—a delicate dance between reality and fantasy.
In my ongoing project, "Poems from Hometown," I delve into the ethereal fragments of my poetic fantasies about my birthplace, Dalian, a northern city in China. The constant yearning for my hometown, shaped by the sensory imprints of sea breeze whispers, the sun's aroma, the hues of the sky, and the lustrous textures of shells, manifests in the vivid tapestry of my dreams.
Every dream is a lyrical ode to my hometown—a poetry of memories. Employing watercolors and Chinese ink on paper, this project transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Everyday objects become vessels for my emotions, intertwined with the hazy recollections and whimsical fancies of my hometown. Each stroke and shade materialize the intangible, giving substance to the melodies of my dreams.
In crafting these pieces, I draw inspiration from my academic pursuits in Chinese painting and my international studies in Korea.
